                       A RESOLUTION
           Honoring the Olentangy Liberty High School boys ice hockey
              team as the 2023 State Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Olentangy Liberty High School    2
boys ice hockey team on winning the 2023 State Championship; and         3
     WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the   4
Olentangy Liberty High School boys ice hockey team have combined         5
talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good            6
sportsmanship to establish themselves as a truly exceptional squad.      7
With admirable dedication, the Patriots have worked diligently toward    8
attaining ultimate proficiency in their sport, and as a result, they     9
defeated a tough Hunting Valley University School team by the score of   10
6-2 to win the first state title in program history; and                 11
     WHEREAS, The achievements and leadership of the Patriots are a      12
justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on them, their   13
families, their school, their community, and their head coach, Kevin     14
Alexander. The success of any athletic endeavor depends largely on the   15
ability of the coaches to provide both guidance and inspiration, and     16
in leading their team to victory, Coach Alexander and his assistants     17
have not only helped the players to develop their talents to the         18
fullest, but they have also instilled in them a valuable sense of        19
determination, perseverance, and camaraderie; and                        20
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role   21
in the total education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay      22
tribute to these fine athletes and their outstanding coaches for a job   23
well done. The maturity and experience the players have gained through   24
participation in hockey will greatly aid them in meeting the             25
challenges of the future; therefore be it                                26

As Adopted by the Senate
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General     27
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Olentangy       28
Liberty High School boys ice hockey team on its tremendous season and      29
salute the players and coaches as some of Ohio’s finest citizens; and      30
be it further                                                              31
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                32
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Olentangy Liberty High        33
School boys ice hockey team.                                               34
