                       A RESOLUTION
                   Honoring the Akron Optimist Club
                          on its Centennial.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Akron         2
Optimist Club on its One Hundredth Anniversary; and                    3
     WHEREAS, Recognition of this prestigious milestone is a fitting     4
tribute to the Akron Optimist Club, for throughout the last century,     5
it has achieved a remarkable record of service to the area. Chartered    6
in 1923, the club has been involved in many significant endeavors for    7
the benefit of young people, and its accomplishments are a justifiable   8
source of pride and an outstanding reflection not only on the            9
organization itself but also on its dedicated members and on the         10
community; and                                                           11
     WHEREAS, Over the years, the Akron Optimist Club has enhanced the   12
quality of life within the surrounding area, and through its generous    13
contributions, it has earned the respect and gratitude of the many       14
citizens it has so capably served. We are certain that as this           15
exemplary organization maintains its unfaltering dedication to           16
service, it will continue in the tradition of excellence that has been   17
the hallmark of Optimist International since its establishment; and      18
     WHEREAS, We are proud to note that it is through the unceasing      19
efforts of organizations such as the Akron Optimist Club that Ohio has   20
gained a reputation as a state that is responsive to the needs of its    21
citizens and has remained a pleasant place in which to live and work.    22
This fine club is truly worthy of acknowledgement; therefore be it       23
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 24
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,       25

commend the Akron Optimist Club on its One Hundredth Anniversary and       26
offer best wishes for the future; and be it further                        27
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 28
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Akron Optimist     29
Club.                                                                  30
