                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring the Riverside High School boys bowling team on
              winning the 2023 Division II State Championship.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Riverside High School boys     2
bowling team as the 2023 Division II State Champion; and                 3
     WHEREAS, The individuals who comprise the Riverside High School     4
boys bowling team, including Zander Crouch, Andrew Knight, Tyler         5
Knight, Sam King, and Gage Stevenson, are excellent athletes, and they   6
have become a truly exceptional squad. This season, the Pirates united   7
to defeat a tough Coldwater team by the score of 3-1 to win the first    8
state title in any sport in school history, and for their unwavering     9
commitment, the students are certainly deserving of high praise; and     10
     WHEREAS, Coaches Zerah Crouch and Jaime Yelton demonstrated         11
remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in steering the            12
Riverside High School boys bowling team to victory, and their skill is   13
reflected in the squad’s outstanding accomplishment. Due largely to      14
their tireless support and guidance, the members have established        15
themselves as winners, both in and out of athletic competition, and      16
they have earned the respect and admiration of all who know them; and    17
     WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future    18
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and    19
the rewards of individual and group effort, athletics have become a      20
valuable tool. Through their participation in sports, the members of     21
the Riverside High School boys bowling team have learned lessons of      22
discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will    23
undoubtedly be of great benefit to them throughout their lives;          24

As Adopted by the Senate
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General        26
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, recognize the Riverside        27
High School boys bowling team for tremendous achievement and extend           28
best wishes for the future; and be it further                                 29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                   30
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Riverside High School            31
boys bowling team.                                                            32
