SUMMARY
 Requires an initial or renewal educator license applicant to include the applicant’s
school district or school of employment.
 Requires an educator license holder to notify the Department of Education annually of
any changes in the district of employment.
 Requires the Department to notify an educator’s district of employment within 90 days
of the educator becoming the subject of a consent agreement of disciplinary action.
DETAILED ANALYSIS
District of employment notification
The bill requires each applicant for an initial educator license or a renewal educator
license, in the form and manner prescribed by the Department of Education, to include the
school district or school in which the applicant is employed. Each educator license holder must
use a system implemented by the Department to submit notification of the educator’s district
or school of employment and of any changes in that employment annually.1
Notification of disciplinary action
If an educator becomes the subject of a consent agreement or disciplinary action taken
by the Department or State Board of Education, the bill requires the Department to notify the
school district or school of that fact. The notice must be given within 90 days of the consent
agreement or disciplinary action.2
