                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring the Marion Local High School football team on        1
              winning the 2022 Division VI State Championship.            2
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly     3
of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Marion Local     4
High School football team as the 2022 Division VI State Champion; and     5
     WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the    6
Marion Local High School football team have meshed talent and             7
enthusiasm to establish themselves as a truly exceptional squad. With     8
admirable dedication, the Flyers have worked diligently toward            9
attaining ultimate proficiency in football, and as a result, they         10
defeated a tough Kirtland team by the score of 14-6 to win the 2022       11
Division VI State Championship, their thirteenth state title in           12
program history, and finished the season with a perfect 16-0 record;      13

     WHEREAS, The Flyers' achievements and leadership are a justifiable   15
source of pride and an excellent reflection on the players, their         16
families, their school, their community, and their head coach, Tim        17
Goodwin. In leading their team to victory, Coach Goodwin and his          18
assistants have not only helped each athlete to develop their talents     19
to the fullest but also instilled in each a valuable sense of             20
determination, perseverance, and camaraderie; and                         21
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role    22
in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased      23
to pay tribute to these exemplary athletes and their outstanding          24
coaches for a job well done. The maturity and experience the team         25
members have gained through their participation in sports will greatly    26
aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it         27

As Adopted by the Senate
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General     28
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Marion          29
Local High School football team on its tremendous 2022 season and          30
offer best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further                   31
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                32
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Marion Local High School      33
football team.                                                             34
