A RESOLUTION
Honoring Morgan Hallett on winning the 2022 Division II
State championships in the discus and the shot put.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 134th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to celebrate Morgan Hallett as a 2022 Division II 2
State Track and Field Champion; and 3
WHEREAS, A diligent and capable individual, Morgan Hallett is 4
deserving of acknowledgement for her exemplary accomplishments as a 5
sophomore member of the Norton High School girls track and field team. 6
An exceptional athlete, she placed first in the discus event with a 7
throw of 156 feet, 4 inches and the shot put event with a throw of 46 8
feet, 7 inches at this year’s Division II State Meet, and her 9
noteworthy record of personal achievement stands as a hallmark for 10
others to emulate; and 11
WHEREAS, Through her participation in sports, Morgan Hallett has 12
learned important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and 13
good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her 14
throughout her life. Her outstanding efforts have inspired countless 15
people to excel in various areas of endeavor, and she has set an 16
example worthy of recognition; and 17
WHEREAS, In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of 18
our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards 19
of individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable 20
educational tool. With sports playing such an important part in the 21
development of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay 22
tribute to such a fine athlete as Morgan Hallett; therefore be it 23
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 134th General 24
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Morgan Hallett 25

As Introduced
on her brilliant 2022 season and offer best wishes for continued 26
success; and be it further 27
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 28
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Morgan Hallett. 29
