A RESOLUTION
In memory of Harry J. Lehman.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 134th 1
General Assembly of Ohio were deeply saddened to learn of the death of 2
Harry J. Lehman and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and 3
friends; and 4
WHEREAS, Harry Lehman left an indelible impression on the people 5
whose lives he touched, and he will be remembered as a spirited 6
individual who contributed immeasurably to the world around him. A 7
veteran of the U.S. Army and an attorney, he was a member of the Ohio 8
House of Representatives from 1970 to 1980, chairing the House 9
Judiciary Committee and advancing several landmark pieces of 10
legislation. In addition, he was a founding partner of the Columbus 11
office of Jones Day, where he worked until his retirement, and he also 12

served on various state boards and commissions and taught at The Ohio 13
State University Moritz College of Law; and 14
WHEREAS, Harry Lehman’s regard for improving the quality of life 15
in our society was clearly evident in his personal sacrifices of time 16
and effort to his family, friends, and community. Giving generously of 17
his energy and abilities in his endeavors, he displayed exceptional 18
concern and insight, and his absence will be keenly felt; and 19
WHEREAS, A loving husband to his wife, Patty, a devoted father to 20
his four children, Sara, Adam, Matt, and Ali, and a doting grandfather 21
to his seven grandchildren, Murphy, Sam, Carly, Dahlia, Jessica, Jack, 22
and Max, Harry Lehman used his talents to the benefit of others, and 23
the laurels of his life stand as a tribute not only to him but also to 24
those he left behind. Although the void his death has created can 25
never be filled, the legacy of care and commitment he established will 26
surely live on. The world is a richer place for his having been in it, 27
and he will be sorely missed; therefore be it 28
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 29
the 134th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 30
express a profound sense of loss and sincere regret at the death of 31
Harry J. Lehman and, in so doing, pay tribute to the memory of a truly 32
unique man; and be it further 33
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 34
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the family of Harry J. 35
Lehman. 36
