A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Grandview Heights High School boys soccer team
for earning the 2022 Division III State Championship.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 134th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to 2
the Grandview Heights High School boys soccer team on winning the 3
2022 Ohio High School Athletic Association Division III State 4
Championship; and 5
WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of Coach James Gerdes, the 6
Grandview Heights High School boys soccer team has proven to be a 7
talented and superbly conditioned squad, one that has gained the 8
respect of fans and opponents alike for the spirited and highly 9
motivated performance of its members. Throughout the season, the 10
players worked diligently to improve their skills, and as a result of 11
their hard work, the Bobcats accomplished their goal, bringing home 12
their second consecutive state championship title; and 13
WHEREAS, Known as a driven, spirited team, the Bobcats have 14
developed into a remarkably efficient group of athletes whose skill on 15
the pitch is equaled only by their exemplary display of teamwork and 16
sportsmanship. They are not only a credit to their families and their 17
school, but they are also representative of the superb coaching 18
ability of their mentor, James Gerdes; and 19
WHEREAS, The road to victory and a championship title is a 20
difficult one, requiring ability, endurance, teamwork, and a positive 21
attitude on the part of players and coaches alike. The members of the 22
Grandview Heights High School boys soccer team have exemplified all of 23
the characteristics that are essential for success both on and off the 24
field, including courage, discipline, integrity, and an innate sense 25
of the principles of good sportsmanship, and their efforts have earned 26

them the admiration of all those who have witnessed these outstanding 27
athletes in action; therefore be it 28
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 29
the 134th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 30
congratulate the Grandview Heights High School boys soccer team on 31
winning the 2022 Division III State Championship and commend all those 32
associated with the outstanding success of this exceptional team; and 33
be it further 34
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 35
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Grandview Heights 36
High School boys soccer team. 37
