A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Centerville High School girls golf team
as the 2022 Division I State Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 134th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Centerville 2
High School girls golf team on winning the 2022 Division I State 3
Championship; and 4
WHEREAS, A remarkable group of athletes, the members of the 5
Centerville High School girls golf team have combined talent and 6
competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to 7
establish themselves as a truly exceptional squad. With admirable 8
dedication, the Elks defeated a tough Dublin Jerome team by one stroke 9
to win this year’s Division I State Championship, their first crown 10
since 1995. These young individuals are certainly deserving of high 11
praise; and 12
WHEREAS, The achievements and leadership of the Elks are a 13
justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on them, their 14
families, their school, their community, and their coach, Mike Dalton. 15
The success of any athletic endeavor depends largely on the ability of 16
the coaches to provide both guidance and inspiration, and in leading 17
his team to victory, Coach Dalton has not only helped the players to 18
develop their talents to the fullest but has also instilled in them a 19
valuable sense of determination, perseverance, and camaraderie; and 20
WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future 21
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and 22
the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has 23
become a valuable educational tool. Through their participation in 24
sports, the members of the Centerville High School girls golf team 25
have learned lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good 26

sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to them 27
throughout their lives; therefore be it 28
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 29
the 134th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 30
commend the Centerville High School girls golf team on its tremendous 31
season and salute the players and coaches as some of Ohio’s finest 32
citizens; and be it further 33
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 34
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Centerville High 35
School girls golf team. 36
