                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring Mia Buff as a 2022 Ohio Junior Olympic Champion
              in swimming.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 134th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to honor Mia Buff on winning first place in the      2
100-meter backstroke event in the 14 and under age category at the       3
2022 Ohio Junior Olympic Championship; and                               4
     WHEREAS, Mia Buff has combined talent and competitive spirit with   5
the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a       6
truly exceptional athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked     7
diligently to attain ultimate proficiency in swimming, and at this       8
year’s Ohio Junior Olympic Championship, she excelled in her age         9
category by earning first-place honors in the 100-meter backstroke and   10
second-place honors in the 100-meter butterfly; and                      11
     WHEREAS, Mia Buff’s accomplishments and leadership, both in and     12
out of athletic competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an    13
excellent reflection not only on her but also on her family, her         14
teammates, her coaches, and her community. Her unwavering commitment     15
to excellence has earned her these well-deserved titles, and she is      16
certainly worthy of high praise; and                                     17
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role   18
in the total education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay      19
tribute to Mia Buff on an exemplary performance. Indeed, the same        20
maturity and experience which she has gained through her participation   21
in sports will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the          22
future; therefore be it                                                  23
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 134th General   24
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Mia Buff on her   25

success at this year’s Ohio Junior Olympic Championship and extend            26
best wishes for the future; and be it further                                 27
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                   28
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Mia Buff.                            29
