A RESOLUTION
Honoring Erica Manto Paulson
as the 2022 Ohio Poet of the Year.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 134th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Erica Manto 2
Paulson on being named the 2022 Ohio Poet of the Year by the Ohio 3
Poetry Association; and 4
WHEREAS, An intelligent and talented writer, Erica Paulson has 5
striven to develop her capabilities, and consequently, she was named 6
the Ohio Poet of the Year for her book, Hunger. Indeed, she has amply 7
demonstrated her ability to appeal to a vast group of readers and has 8
displayed an exceptional willingness to work hard to produce superior 9
results. She is certainly deserving of high praise; and 10
WHEREAS, Our society benefits greatly from imaginative, 11
articulate communicators, and Erica Paulson’s inspiring eloquence and 12
sophisticated artistry have enabled her to contribute something of 13
precious and enduring value. Through her creativity, she has found 14
personal fulfillment while entertaining, enlightening, and inspiring 15
others with her craft, and we are certain that she will continue to 16
display the same unwavering dedication to excellence for which she has 17
become known; and 18
WHEREAS, Erica Paulson’s accomplishments are a justifiable source 19
of pride and an excellent reflection not only on her but also on her 20
family and her community. She has exhibited a sincere desire to 21
achieve her goals and to share her love and passion for the written 22
word with all who know her, so they may find a greater appreciation 23
and perhaps a deeper understanding of themselves; therefore be it 24
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 25

the 134th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 26
applaud Erica Manto Paulson for outstanding achievement and extend 27
best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further 28
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 29
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Erica Manto Paulson. 30
