                       A RESOLUTION
                        Honoring Aleah Johnson
     on winning the 2022 OHSAA Division III State Track and Field
                       Championship in discus.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 134th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Aleah Johnson as    2
the 2022 OHSAA Division III State Track and Field Champion in the        3
discus event; and                                                        4
     WHEREAS, A senior at Botkins High School, Aleah Johnson has         5
combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good   6
sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional athlete.       7
With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward attaining    8
ultimate proficiency in her sport, and as a result, she secured the      9
OHSAA Division III Championship title in the discus event with a throw   10
of 137 feet, 5 inches as well as a top fourteen finish in the shot put   11
with a throw of 38 feet, 4.75 inches; and                                12
     WHEREAS, Aleah Johnson’s accomplishments and leadership, both in    13
and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine     14
reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her    15
coaches, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to     16
excellence has earned her this well-deserved honor, and she is           17
certainly worthy of high praise; and                                     18
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role   19
in the total education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay      20
tribute to Aleah Johnson on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same        21
maturity and experience she has gained through her participation in      22
track and field will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the    23
future; therefore be it                                                  24

As Offered
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of    Representatives of 25
the 134th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this   Resolution,        26
commend Aleah Johnson on her outstanding performance   at the 2022        27
Division III State Track and Field Championship meet   and extend best    28
wishes for ongoing success; and be it further                             29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 30
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Aleah Johnson.         31
