A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Archbold High School baseball team as the
2021 Division III State Runner-up.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 134th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Archbold High School 2
baseball team on placing second at the 2021 Division III State 3
Tournament; and 4
WHEREAS, The talented members of the Archbold High School baseball 5
team are to be heartily commended, for their second-place finish at 6
this year’s Division III State Tournament reflects an outstanding 7
collective effort by a gifted group of athletes. Without exception, 8
each player had prepared conscientiously in pursuit of excellence, 9
devoting countless hours to training and practice in order to ensure 10
peak conditioning, and clearly, this demanding regimen has paid 11
handsome dividends; and 12
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Coach Richard E. Selgo, the 13
members of the Archbold High School baseball team have epitomized the 14
power, poise, and precision that befit true competitors. Despite 15
sometimes grueling pressure, they have consistently maintained their 16
composure and morale, exhibiting strength, speed, stamina, and agility 17
in every challenging encounter. Time and again, they have risen to the 18
occasion, amply demonstrating their unflagging determination, and 19
their impressive maturity and finesse have gained them widespread 20
respect, even among their most formidable rivals; and 21
WHEREAS, By weathering a rigorous schedule and prevailing over a 22
host of adversaries, the members of the Archbold High School baseball 23
team have learned much about dedication, self-discipline, leadership, 24
and perseverance. Their second-place finish is a measure of their 25
stalwart commitment to the sport, and their indomitable spirit has 26

made their families, friends, and coach extremely proud. This 27
accomplishment attests to the staunch resolve of these young men, and 28
it signifies the acquisition of valuable experience that is sure to 29
benefit them in later life; therefore be it 30
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 134th General 31
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Archbold 32
High School baseball team on its fine season and offer best wishes for 33
the years to come; and be it further 34
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 35
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Archbold High School 36
baseball team. 37
