A RESOLUTION
Honoring Garret Travers as a 2021 Ohio Speech and Debate
Association State Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 134th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Garret Travers on his superb 2
performance at the 2021 Ohio Speech and Debate Association State 3
Finals; and 4
WHEREAS, A student at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School, 5
Garret Travers has striven to develop his capabilities, and 6
consequently, he won first place in the original oratory category at 7
this year’s Ohio Speech and Debate Association State Finals. An 8
intelligent and motivated individual, he has amply demonstrated his 9
ability to meet challenges with enthusiasm and confidence and has 10
displayed an exceptional willingness to work hard to produce superior 11
results. Through his remarkable efforts, he has set an example worthy 12
of emulation, and he is certainly deserving of high praise; and 13
WHEREAS, With self-discipline, perseverance, and resolve, Garret 14
Travers has striven to increase his knowledge and skills. Through his 15
decisive leadership, he has distinguished himself as a conscientious 16
and responsible young man, and we are certain that he will continue to 17
display the same unwavering dedication to excellence for which he has 18
become known; and 19
WHEREAS, Garret Travers’ accomplishments are a justifiable source 20
of pride and an excellent reflection not only on him but also on his 21
family, his teammates, his coaches, his school, and his community. He 22
has exhibited a sincere desire to do his best in all of his endeavors 23
and to fulfill his goals in the future, and this, coupled with his 24
maturity and initiative, shows his potential to become one of 25
tomorrow’s leaders; therefore be it 26

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 134th General 27
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Garret Travers 28
for outstanding achievement and salute him as one of Ohio’s finest 29
young citizens; and be it further 30
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this 31
Resolution to Garret Travers. 32
