A RESOLUTION
Honoring Molly Xiao as a 2021 Ohio Speech and Debate
Association Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 134th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Molly Xiao on placing first in the 2
international extemporaneous speaking category at the 2021 Ohio Speech 3
and Debate Association State Finals; and 4
WHEREAS, A member of the Hawken School speech and debate team, 5
Molly Xiao has combined civic concern and dedication with the utmost 6
professionalism to establish herself as a dynamic young mind. Through 7
her outstanding efforts at this year’s Ohio Speech and Debate 8
Association State Finals, she has truly proven herself to be a 9
conscientious and hard-working Ohioan; and 10
WHEREAS, Willingly giving of her time, energy, and abilities far 11
beyond what was required or expected, Molly Xiao has earned the 12
respect and esteem of the entire community for her accomplishments. We 13
are certain that in the years to come, she will continue to 14
demonstrate the same unwavering commitment to excellence for which she 15
has become known, and she is truly deserving of high praise; and 16
WHEREAS, The knowledge and self-confidence Molly Xiao has gained 17
through her participation in events such as the Ohio Speech and Debate 18
Association State Finals will no doubt be of great benefit to her 19
throughout her lifetime. We look forward to her future contributions 20
to our state and society; therefore be it 21
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 134th General 22
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Molly Xiao on 23
her recent attainment and salute her as an outstanding Ohioan; and be 24
