                       A RESOLUTION
           Honoring Amy Weybrecht as the 2021 Division II State
              Champion in the 800-meter run.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 134th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to applaud Amy Weybrecht on winning first place in   2
the 800-meter run event at the 2021 Division II State Championship       3
meet; and                                                                4
     WHEREAS, As a freshman member of the Gilmour Academy girls track    5
and field team, Amy Weybrecht has displayed outstanding ability and      6
spirited drive, as well as superb quickness and tenacity, and she has    7
distinguished herself as a superior athlete. Throughout the 2021         8
season, she has gained the admiration and respect of all those who       9
have witnessed her in action, and as a result, she placed first in the   10
800-meter run event with a time of 2:13.48 at this year’s Division II    11
State Championship meet; and                                             12
     WHEREAS, Athletes such as Amy Weybrecht exemplify the qualities     13
necessary for excellence in any sport, including discipline, agility,    14
conditioning, and focus. Indeed, throughout long hours of practice and   15
competition, she has consistently demonstrated the talent and            16
motivation that are the hallmarks of a true champion; and                17
     WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future    18
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and    19
the rewards of individual effort, high school athletic competition has   20
become a valuable tool. Through her participation in sports, Amy         21
Weybrecht has learned lessons of perseverance, hard work, and fair and   22
honest competition that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her      23
throughout her lifetime; therefore be it                                 24
    RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 134th General    25

As Introduced
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Amy            26
Weybrecht on her outstanding performance at the 2021 Division II State     27
Championship meet and extend best wishes for continued success; and be     28
it further                                                                 29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                30
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Amy Weybrecht.                    31
