Existing law creates the Workforce Innovations for a New Nevada Account in the State General Fund and provides that money in the Account must be used to carry out certain programs of workforce development. (NRS 231.141-231.152) Existing law requires the money remaining in the Account that has not been committed for expenditure on or before June 30 of an odd-numbered fiscal year to revert to the State General Fund. (NRS 231.151) This bill requires any money remaining in the Account at the end of a fiscal year to not revert to the State General Fund and instead must be carried forward to the next fiscal year. This bill becomes effective upon passage by the Legislature and approval by the Governor, and, thus, any money remaining in the Account at the end of the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2023, and each subsequent fiscal year, would not revert to the State General Fund and instead would carry forward in the Account to the next fiscal year.
