This bill amends the current law regarding the renewal of licenses and certificates issued by the New Jersey Board of Nursing. It establishes that these licenses and certificates will now expire on the holder's birthday in the second calendar year following issuance, rather than on fixed dates as previously practiced. If a holder's birthday does not align with a calendar day in the year of expiration, the license or certificate will instead expire on the last day of the holder's birth month in that year. The bill maintains the existing two-year validity period for these licenses and certificates.

Additionally, the bill clarifies that the fees associated with the licenses and certificates will be proportionate to the duration of validity, whether less or greater than one year. This legislation will take effect 30 days after enactment and will apply only to licenses and certificates issued by the New Jersey Board of Nursing from that date forward. The professionals affected by this change include registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and various other nursing roles.
