Requires NJT to pay support staff and subcontractors one-and-a-half times regular rate for work done during state of emergency.

An Act concerning compensation for certain work done for the New Jersey Transit Corporation during a declared state of emergency and supplementing Title 27 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. For each hour of time worked during a state of emergency declared by the Governor, the New Jersey Transit Corporation shall ensure that each member of the corporation s support staff and each individual that works for a subcontractor of the corporation, including paratransit drivers and attendants, is paid wages at a rate of not less than 150 percent of the employee s or individual s regular hourly wage.
For purposes of this section, support staff includes, but is not limited to, mechanics, technical support staff, and any employee covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill requires the New Jersey Transit Corporation to ensure that support staff and subcontractors are paid time-and-a-half for work performed during a state of emergency declared by the Governor.
