This bill aims to clarify the responsibilities of school districts in investigating incidents of bullying and cyberbullying that occur across multiple districts. It amends RSA 193-F:4, II(j) to specify that in cases of bullying and/or cyberbullying that span multiple school districts, the district where the action originated is responsible for conducting the investigation. The bill also maintains the requirement for a written procedure for investigations to be initiated within five school days of the reported incident, with provisions for extensions if necessary.

Additionally, the bill outlines that the principal or their designee will be responsible for the investigation, and the superintendent or their designee can grant extensions for up to an additional seven school days. The superintendent is required to notify all parties involved in writing if an extension is granted. This legislation is set to take effect 60 days after its passage.
