This bill requires the attorney general to notify the general court when they discover a legislator residing in a different district than they represent. The attorney general must immediately notify the presiding officer, the minority leader, and the clerk of the relevant chamber if they have probable cause to believe that a legislator has ceased to be a resident of their district. The attorney general is not required to provide details of any ongoing criminal investigation beyond the issue of residency. The bill will take effect 60 days after its passage.
