STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty One
AN ACT adopting omnibus legislation relative to memorials and commemorations.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 1 Sponsorship. This act consists of the following proposed legislation:
2 PART I: LSR 21-0904, making "My 603" a state song, sponsored by Sen. Cavanaugh, Prime/Dist

4 PART II: LSR 21-0909, recognizing October 13 as metastatic breast cancer awareness day,
5 sponsored by Sen. Perkins Kwoka, Prime/Dist 21; Rep. Pantelakos, Rock 25; Rep. Ward, Rock 28;
6 Rep. Somssich, Rock 27; Rep. Meuse, Rock 29.
7 PART III: LSR 21-0919, establishing April 8, 2024 as solar eclipse day, sponsored by Sen.
8 Hennessey, Prime/Dist 1; Rep. Merner, Coos 7; Rep. Tucker, Coos 5.
9 2 Legislation Enacted. The general court hereby enacts the following legislation:

11 Making "My 603" a state song.
12 1 New Paragraph; State Songs; "My 603". Amend RSA 3:7 by inserting after paragraph X the
13 following new paragraph:
14 XI. “My 603” with words and music by Nicole Knox Murphy.
15 2 Effective Date. Part I of this act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
16 PART II
17 Recognizing October 13 as metastatic breast cancer awareness day.
18 1 New Section; Observances Proclaimed by the Governor; Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness
19 Day. Amend RSA 4 by inserting after section 13-cc the following new section:
20 4:13-dd Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day. The governor shall proclaim October 13 as
21 metastatic breast cancer awareness day. The governor shall encourage all citizens to mark the day
22 with appropriate educational and memorial activities.
23 2 Effective Date. Part II of this act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.

25 Establishing April 8, 2024 as solar eclipse day.
26 1 Statement of Intent.
27 I. Since before recorded history, human action, imagination, and passion have been inspired
28 and guided by the celestial bodies, none more important than our sun, the source of all life on Earth,
29 and our moon, our constant reminder of beauty, change, and hope in times of darkness.
30 II. On April 8, 2024, the Sun, the Moon, and we here on Earth will perfectly align in a total
31 solar eclipse, an exceptional and providential occurrence over the ages, reminding our species once

1 again of just how small we are, how insignificant our differences are, how vast and powerful the
2 universe that sustains us is, and how we are all, indeed, intimately and irrevocably connected to one
3 another.
4 III. New Hampshire will have the unique good fortune of being in the path of totality of this
5 magnificent phenomenon, in perfect alignment with our sun and moon.
6 IV. Moreover, New Hampshire, in the same spirit that we welcome all to participate in our
7 unique political landscape, shall once again open its arms so that all people from around the country
8 and in fact the globe can be here at that moment to witness, and be humbled by, the awe-inspiring
9 sight of the heavenly bodies moving in their spheres.
10 2 Solar Eclipse Day. The governor shall proclaim April 8, 2024 as solar eclipse day in New
11 Hampshire and shall urge all citizens of the state to commemorate the day with appropriate
12 educational activities.
13 3 Effective Date. Part III of this act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
