1 A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to appropriations; to appropriate money to the
2 Department of Transportation to begin planning for the East Beltway
3 project in Lancaster County; and to declare an emergency.
4 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,

1 Section 1. There is hereby appropriated $25,000,000 from the
2 General Fund for FY2023-24 to the Department of Transportation to begin
3 planning for the East Beltway project in Lancaster County. Such planning
4 shall include preparing environmental studies and evaluation documents
5 for the beltway in compliance with the federal National Environmental
6 Policy Act, designing the roadway and structures for the beltway, and
7 estimating the costs of and a projected schedule for the completion of
8 the beltway.
9 Sec. 2. Since an emergency exists, this act takes effect when
10 passed and approved according to law.
