1 A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to the Livestock Brand Act; to amend section
2 54-1,122, Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska; to change provisions
3 relating to inspection requirements at registered feedlots; and to
4 repeal the original section.
5 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,

1 Section 1. Section 54-1,122, Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska,
2 is amended to read:
3 54-1,122 (1) Any cattle originating in a state that has a brand
4 inspection agency and which are accompanied by a certificate of
5 inspection or brand clearance issued by such agency may be moved directly
6 from the point of origin into a registered feedlot.
7 (2) Any cattle originating not accompanied by such a certificate of
8 inspection or brand clearance or by satisfactory evidence of ownership
9 from states or portions of states not having brand inspection and which
10 are accompanied by satisfactory evidence of ownership may be moved
11 directly from the point of origin into a registered feedlot.
12 (3) Except as provided in subsections (1) and (2) of this section,
13 the Nebraska Brand Committee shall subject any cattle moved into a
14 registered feedlot shall be subjected to physical inspection for brands
15 by the Nebraska Brand Committee or, if applicable, subjected to
16 electronic inspection, within a reasonable time after arrival at a
17 registered feedlot. The , and the inspection fee and mileage charge, if
18 applicable, provided under section 54-1,108 shall be collected by the
19 brand inspector at the time the inspection is performed.
20 Sec. 2. Original section 54-1,122, Reissue Revised Statutes of
21 Nebraska, is repealed.
