1 A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to civil actions; to provide for immunity for
2 injury or death resulting from COVID-19 exposure; and to define
3 terms.
4 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,

1 Section 1. (1) No person shall be liable in any civil action for
2 any injury or death resulting from an alleged exposure to COVID-19 if
3 such exposure occurred after the effective date of this act.
4 (2) For purposes of this section:
5 (a) COVID-19 means the novel coronavirus identified as SARS-CoV-2,
6 the disease caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 or a virus
7 mutating therefrom, and the health conditions or threats associated with
8 the disease caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 or a virus
9 mutating therefrom; and
10 (b) Person means (a) any natural person, sole proprietorship,
11 partnership, limited liability partnership, corporation, limited
12 liability company, business trust, estate, trust, unincorporated
13 association, or joint venture, (b) the State of Nebraska and any
14 political subdivision of the state, (c) any public or private school,
15 college, university, institution of higher education, religious
16 organization, or charitable organization, or (d) any other legal or
17 commercial entity.
