1 A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to cities and villages; to amend section
2 19-927, Revised Statutes Supplement, 2019; to change provisions
3 relating to planning commission meetings; and to repeal the original
4 section.
5 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,

1 Section 1. Section 19-927, Revised Statutes Supplement, 2019, is
2 amended to read:
3 19-927 The planning commission of a city of the first class, city of
4 the second class, or village shall elect its chairperson from its members
5 and create and fill such other of its offices as it may determine. The
6 term of the chairperson shall be one year, and he or she shall be
7 eligible for reelection. The commission shall hold at least one regular
8 meeting in each calendar quarter, except as provided in this section. The
9 the city council or village board of trustees may require the commission
10 to meet more frequently and the chairperson of the commission may call
11 for a meeting when necessary to deal with business pending before the
12 commission. If no business is pending before the commission, the
13 chairperson may cancel a quarterly meeting, but no more than three
14 quarterly meetings may be cancelled per calendar year. The commission
15 shall adopt rules and regulations for the transaction of business and
16 shall keep a record of its resolutions, transactions, findings, and
17 determinations, which shall be a public record.
18 Sec. 2. Original section 19-927, Revised Statutes Supplement, 2019,
19 is repealed.
