1 A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact sections 15-06-02 and 54-01-13.2 of the North Dakota
2 Century Code, relating to the composition of the county board of appraisers and land appraisal
3 requirements.
4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
5 SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Section 15-06-02 of the North Dakota Century Code is
6 amended and reenacted as follows:
7 15-06-02. County board of appraisers - How composed.
8 The county superintendent of schools, the chairman of the board of county commissioners,
9 and the county auditor of each county constitutes the county board of appraisers of the original
10 grant lands of the state in their respective counties. The county director of tax equalization shall
11 serve as an assistant in making the appraisals.
12 SECTION 2. AMENDMENT. Section 54-01-13.2 of the North Dakota Century Code is
13 amended and reenacted as follows:
14 54-01-13.2. Appraisal.
15 The lands to be conveyed to the United States of America and also the lands to be taken in
16 exchange therefor, under the provisions of section 54-01-13.1, must be appraised by the county
17 superintendent of schools, the county auditor, and the chairman of the board of county
18 commissioners in the county wherein which the land is situated, at itsthe land's fair market
19 value, but no state school lands may not be appraised and valued at less than ten dollars per
20 acre [.40 hectare]. The county director of tax equalization shall serve as an assistant in making
21 the appraisals.
