1 A BILL for an Act to create and enact a new section to chapter 20.1-05 of the North Dakota
2 Century Code, relating to party hunting for deer; and to amend and reenact sections 20.1-03-31
3 and 20.1-05-03 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to hunting licenses and the taking of
4 big game animals.
5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
6 SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Section 20.1-03-31 of the North Dakota Century Code is
7 amended and reenacted as follows:
8 20.1-03-31. Using or claiming as one's own the license or permit of another person
9 unlawful.
10 NoExcept as provided under section 3 of this Act, a person may not use the license or
11 permit of another person or attempt to deceive the director, the deputy director, any game
12 warden, or any police officer by claiming that license as that person's own.
13 SECTION 2. AMENDMENT. Section 20.1-05-03 of the North Dakota Century Code is
14 amended and reenacted as follows:
15 20.1-05-03. Season for taking and transporting big game - Bag limit.
16 AExcept as provided under section 3 of this Act, a person having a big game hunting
17 license as prescribed in this title may take, kill, and transport, during the open or lawful season,
18 one big game animal in this state. The open or lawful season on deer and antelope begins at
19 twelve noon central standard time and on elk, moose, and bighorn sheep begins one-half hour
20 before sunrise on any designated Friday as established by gubernatorial proclamation in
21 accordance with this title. This section does not prohibit the transportation, shipment, or
22 possession within this state of properly tagged big game legally taken in other states or taken
23 on Indian land.

1 SECTION 3. A new section to chapter 20.1-05 of the North Dakota Century Code is created
2 and enacted as follows:
3 Party hunting.
4 Any member of a party of ten or fewer may take or kill the number of deer which is equal to
5 the number of valid deer licenses held by the participating members of the party. Each person in
6 the party must hold a valid combination license to be eligible to party hunt.
