1 A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact section 1-03-13 of the North Dakota Century Code,
2 relating to changing the date of First Nations Day.
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
4 SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Section 1-03-13 of the North Dakota Century Code is amended
5 and reenacted as follows:
6 1-03-13. First Nations Day.
7 To recognize the indigenous peoples of the State of North Dakota and their contributions to
8 the state and to the United States, the governor shall issue a proclamation each year
9 designating the Friday before the second Monday in October as First Nations Day.
