1 A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact section 15-01-01 of the North Dakota Century Code,
2 relating to membership of the board of university and school lands; and to provide a contingent
3 effective date.
4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
5 SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Section 15-01-01 of the North Dakota Century Code is
6 amended and reenacted as follows:
7 15-01-01. Board - Membership - Officers.
8 The governor, secretary of state, state treasureragriculture commissioner, attorney general,
9 and superintendent of public instruction shall constitute the "board of university and school
10 lands". The governor must be the chairman, the secretary of state must be the vice chairman,
11 and the commissioner of university and school lands must be the secretary of the board. In the
12 absence of the commissioner at any meeting of the board, the deputy commissioner of
13 university and school lands shall act as secretary. When acting as the board of university and
14 school lands, the members of the board shall act in person and may not be represented by any
15 assistant, clerk, or deputy.
16 SECTION 2. CONTINGENT EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act is contingent on the date the
17 proposed amendment to section 3 of article IX of the Constitution of North Dakota as contained
18 in Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 4007, as agreed to by the sixty-seventh legislative
19 assembly and approved by the electors, becomes effective.
