1 A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact section 43-30-03 of the North Dakota Century Code,
2 relating to the membership of the private investigative and security board; and to provide for
3 application.
4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
5 SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Section 43-30-03 of the North Dakota Century Code is
6 amended and reenacted as follows:
7 43-30-03. Private investigative and security board.
8 The governor shall appoint a private investigative and security board. The board must
9 consist of not lessfewer than five nor more than eleven members appointed for staggered
10 four-year terms. Appointees toWhen making appointments, the governor shall ensure member
11 representation from the western, central, and eastern geographic regions of the state. Each
12 member of the board must be knowledgeable in private investigative or private security matters.
13 A majority of the members of the board must be actively engaged in the private investigative or
14 security profession, with at least one member actively engaged in law enforcement. Members of
15 the board may not receive any compensation for their service on the board, but they are entitled
16 to be reimbursedreceive reimbursement for their expenses incurred in performing theirofficial
17 duties in the amounts provided by law for state employees.
18 SECTION 2. APPLICATION. This Act applies to board appointments made on and after the
19 effective date of this Act.
