1 A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact section 39-12-23 of the North Dakota Century Code,
2 relating to a governor's order authorizing excess limits regarding road trains.
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
4 SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Section 39-12-23 of the North Dakota Century Code is
5 amended and reenacted as follows:
6 39-12-23. Governor's order authorizing excess limits.
7 1. The governor of this state is hereby authorized, by order of general application, tomay
8 permit and prescribe definite excess limitations as to size and weight for:
9 a. For the operation of motor vehicles in emergencies;
10 b. For the operation of road trains; and to
11 c. To meet unusual conditions for the general welfare of the public.
12 2. The operation of such vehicles, in accordance with the governor's order, does not
13 constitute a violation of the statutes relative to limitations on sizes and weights except
14 an order permitting excess length limitations for the operation of road trains may not
15 exceed the single axle gross weight limitations as established by this chapter.
