1 A BILL for an Act to provide an appropriation to the state board of higher education for the
2 higher education challenge matching grant program.
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
4 SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION. There is appropriated out of any moneys in the general
5 fund in the state treasury, not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $9,650,000, or so much of the
6 sum as may be necessary, to the state board of higher education for the purpose of awarding
7 matching grants for the advancement of academics at institutions under the control of the
8 board, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2021, and ending June 30, 2023. The funding
9 provided in this section is considered a one-time funding item.
