1 A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact section 12.1-30-04 of the North Dakota Century Code,
2 relating to Sunday closing laws and retail agreements; and to repeal sections 12.1-30-01,
3 12.1-30-02, and 12.1-30-03 of the North Dakota Century Code, relating to Sunday closing laws.
4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
5 SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Section 12.1-30-04 of the North Dakota Century Code is
6 amended and reenacted as follows:
7 12.1-30-04. Retail business leases or agreements - Penalty.
8 A retail business may not be required to be open on Sunday as a part of a lease agreement,
9 franchise agreement, or any other contractual arrangement entered and executed before
10 January 1, 2019. A violation of this section is a class A misdemeanor.
11 SECTION 2. REPEAL. Sections 12.1-30-01, 12.1-30-02, and 12.1-30-03 of the North
12 Dakota Century Code are repealed.
