1 A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact sections 28-32-20 and 54-03-24 of the North Dakota
2 Century Code, relating to electronic notification of the administrative code.
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
4 SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Section 28-32-20 of the North Dakota Century Code is
5 amended and reenacted as follows:
6 28-32-20. Printing, sales, and distributionNotification of code and code supplement.
7 1. The legislative council shall publish the code and code supplement on the legislative
8 branch website.
9 2. The secretary of state shall distributesend electronic notification of quarterly updates
10 to the code and code supplement and shall distribute copies of the code, revisions,
11 and the code supplement without charge to the following:
12 a. Governor, one copy.
13 b. Attorney general, one copy.
14 c. Each supreme court judge, one copyjustice.
15 d. Each district court judge, one copy.
16 e. Each county auditor of this state, for the use of county officials and the public,
17 one copy.
18 f. Supreme court library, one copy.
19 g. State library, one copy.
20 h. Law library of the university of North Dakota, one copy.
21 i. Each of the five depository libraries in this state, one copy, upon request.
22 j. Secretary of state, one copy.
23 k. Legislative council, four copies.

1 l. Each member of the legislative assembly, one copy, upon requestUpon request,
2 to any person requesting electronic notification of quarterly updates to the code.
3 2. The legislative council, each county auditor in the state, and the librarians for the
4 supreme court library, the state library, the university of North Dakota law library, and
5 the five depository libraries as designated according to subsection 1 and section
6 54-24-09 shall maintain a complete, current set of the code, including revisions and
7 the code supplement.
8 3. The secretary of state shall make copies of and subscriptions to the code and code
9 supplement available to any person upon payment of the appropriate subscription fee.
10 4. The legislative council shall determine the appropriate fee for subscribing to the code
11 and code supplement.
12 5. All fees collected by the secretary of state must be deposited in the general fund of the
13 state treasury.
14 6.3. If applicable, the administrative code, revisions to the administrative code, and the
15 code supplement must be considered sixth-class printing under sections 46-02-04 and
16 46-02-09.
17 SECTION 2. AMENDMENT. Section 54-03-24 of the North Dakota Century Code is
18 amended and reenacted as follows:
19 54-03-24. Administrative Code distributed to each legislator - Retentioncode.
20 Each member of the legislative assembly is entitled to receive a current set of the North
21 Dakota Administrative Codeelectronic notification of quarterly updates to the North Dakota
22 administrative code as provided in section 28-32-20. The legislator is entitled to current
23 supplements and volumes as provided in section 28-32-20 to maintain the code during the
24 legislator's service. The code received by a legislator under this section is not subject to section
25 46-04-04. After a legislator's service in the legislative assembly is terminated, the secretary of
26 state shall inform the legislator how to obtain a subscription to maintain the legislator's code.
