1 A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact subsection 1 of section 10-06.1-01 of the North Dakota
2 Century Code, relating to the definition of farming or ranching.
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
4 SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Subsection 1 of section 10-06.1-01 of the North Dakota
5 Century Code is amended and reenacted as follows:
6 1. "Farming or ranching" means cultivating land for production of agricultural crops or
7 livestock, or the raising or producing of livestock or livestock products, poultry or
8 poultry products, milk or dairy products, or fruit or horticultural products. It does not
9 include production of timber or forest products, nor does it includethe growing or
10 processing of marijuana under chapter 19-24.1, or a contract whereby a processor or
11 distributor of farm products or supplies provides grain, harvesting, or other farm
12 services.
