1 A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact section 15.1-07-33 of the North Dakota Century Code,
2 relating to the student information system.
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
4 SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Section 15.1-07-33 of the North Dakota Century Code is
5 amended and reenacted as follows:
6 15.1-07-33. Student information system - Exemption.
7 1. Notwithstanding any other technology requirements imposed by the superintendent of
8 public instruction, the information technology department, or the North Dakota
9 educational technology council, each school district shall acquire PowerSchool
10 throughimplement the state student information system administered by the
11 information technology department and use it as its principal student information
12 system. Each school district shall use a state course code, assigned by the
13 department of public instruction, to identify all local classes in PowerSchoolthe state
14 student information system.
15 2. The superintendent of public instruction may exempt a school district from having to
16 acquireimplement and utilize PowerSchoolthe state student information system if the
17 school district demonstrates that, in accordance with requirements of the bureau of
18 Indian education, the district has acquired and is utilizing a student information system
19 that is determined to be comparable by the superintendent.
