1 A BILL for an Act to amend and reenact section 37-17.1-27 of the North Dakota Century Code,
2 relating to the process of expending funds from the disaster relief fund.
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:
4 SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Section 37-17.1-27 of the North Dakota Century Code is
5 amended and reenacted as follows:
6 37-17.1-27. State disaster relief fund - Creation - Uses.
7 There is created in the state treasury a state disaster relief fund. Moneys in the fund are to
8 be used subject to legislative appropriations and emergency commission and budget section
9 approval for providing the required state share of funding for expenses and administration
10 associated with presidential-declared disasters in the statefederal emergency management
11 agency disaster response, recovery, and mitigation grants, and for the purposes of reimbursing
12 costs under section 37-17.1-28. Agencies appropriated funding from the state disaster relief
13 fund shall provide the budget section with quarterly reports detailing expenditures made from
14 the appropriation. Any interest or other fund earnings must be deposited in the fund.
