2   AN ACT TO LIMIT THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS ASSIGNED TO ONE SCHOOL
3       COUNSELOR.
4   The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
5              SECTION 1. G.S. 115C-316.1 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:
6       "(c) To the extent funds are made available, public school units shall staff school
7   counselors at a ratio of one counselor for every 300 students."
8              SECTION 2. This act is effective when it becomes law and public school units shall
9   be in compliance by the end of the 2024-2025 school year.
