Short Title: ABC Store Tastings Permit Clarification. (Public)

2 AN ACT TO CLARIFY THAT A SPIRITUOUS LIQUOR SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT FOR A
3 CONSUMER TASTING IN AN ABC STORE SHALL BE ISSUED IN THE NAME OF
4 THE BUSINESS LISTED ON THE APPLICATION FOR THE PERMIT.
5 The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
6 SECTION 1. G.S. 18B-1114.7(c) is amended by adding a new subdivision to read:
7 "(1a) The permit shall be issued in the name of the business listed on the application
8 for the permit."
9 SECTION 2. The Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission shall amend its rules
10 consistent with the provisions of this act. The Commission may use the procedure set forth in
11 G.S. 150B-21.1 to amend any rules as required under this section.
12 SECTION 3. This act becomes effective July 1, 2021, and applies to permits issued
13 or renewed on or after that date.
