2 AN ACT TO ADD A LICENSED SOIL SCIENTIST TO THE ON-SITE WASTEWATER
3 CONTRACTORS AND INSPECTORS CERTIFICATION BOARD.
4 The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
5 SECTION 1. G.S. 90A-73(a) reads as rewritten:
6 "(a) Creation and Appointments. – There is created the North Carolina On-Site
7 Wastewater Contractors and Inspectors Certification Board. The Board shall consist of nine
8 members appointed to three-year terms as follows:

10 (9) One member appointed by the General Assembly upon recommendation of
11 the Speaker of the House of Representatives who, at the time of appointment,
12 is (i) employed by the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service, and (ii)
13 is knowledgeable in the area of a soil scientist licensed under Article 89F of
14 the General Statutes with experience in the soil and site evaluation for on-site
15 wastewater systems, to a term that expires on 1 July of years that precede by
16 one year those years that are evenly divisible by three."
17 SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2021.
