Currently, there is a reduced statutory sales tax of 1% on all retail sales of food, as defined in the bill, with the revenue from sales being deposited into the School District Trust Fund.
This bill provides that all retail sales of food are exempt for sales and use tax.
This bill is similar to HB 6 (2022, Special Session).
