HB 1244 -- MANAGEMENT OF MEDICATION RISKS

The bill allows a physician who prescribes or a pharmacist who dispenses drugs for which the federal Food and Drug Administration has issued a boxed warning under 21 CFR 201.57(c)(1) to alert a prescriber that there may be an increased risk of suicidal ideation or behavior associated with the drug to advise and counsel the patient on how to recognize symptoms and provide the patient the number for the national Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
