HB 1240 -- TUTORING AND SUMMER SCHOOL REQUIREMENT

This bill requires school districts and charter schools to establish a policy for required tutoring and summer school instruction for students that are reading below grade level, performing below grade level in math, or have failed to achieve a proficient or advanced score on the statewide assessment. The tutoring and summer school instruction will use research-validated programs with evidence outlined in the bill to demonstrate adequate gains in reading and mathematics.
