This bill specifies that the cost of filing the petition for a protection order due to domestic violence, stalking, or sexual assault will be the standard court costs otherwise due for instituting a civil action in the circuit court. However, if the petition is accompanied by a police report that details the incident that prompted the filing of the petition for the protection order, the fee will be waived.
