This bill designates the portion of U.S. State Highway 63 from Spruce Street to McKay Street within the city of Macon in Macon County as the "US Army Sergeant Hugh C Dunn Memorial Highway". The costs of signs designating the highway shall be paid by private donations.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this is a fitting tribute to Mr. Dunn.
Testifying for the bill were Representative Basye; Bill Noyes; and Jan Watts.
OPPONENTS: Those who oppose the bill say that dedicating portions of highways and bridges only to some people who served in the military is not fair to all persons who have served in the military.
