This bill provides employers an alternative minimum wage that is $1 lower than the state minimum wage that they may pay to any employee within the first 28 days of employment. This does not apply to jobs in interstate commerce that are subject to prevailing federal minimum wage requirements as specified in the bill.
The bill has a delayed effective date of January 1, 2022.
