The following is a summary of the House Committee Substitute for HCR 6.

This resolution designates September of each year as "Substance Use Disorder Awareness Month" in recognition of the dangers and costs of the abuse epidemic in the state of Missouri.

This resolution is the similar to HCR 66 (2020).

The following is a summary of the public testimony from the committee hearing. The testimony was based on the introduced version of the bill.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this resolution will help to increase awareness of substance use disorders. Too many people have been lost to overdoses and this epidemic is getting worse with the onset of COVID. It is important to remember these people struggling with a horrible disease. More awareness and education needs to happen now.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Stevens; Arnie C. Dienoff; and the Missouri Nurses Association.
