COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "Do Pass" by the Standing Committee on Corrections and Public Institutions by a vote of 9 to 0. Voted "Do Pass" by the Standing Committee on Rules- Legislative Oversight by a vote of 9 to 0.

This bill authorizes the Department of Natural Resources to convey land located in Iron County to the State Highways and Transportation Commission. The land to be conveyed is described in the bill.

The Director of the Department of Natural Resources and the State Highways and Transportation Commission shall set the terms and conditions for the conveyance.

The General Counsel for the Department of Natural Resources shall approve the form of the instrument of conveyance.

This bill is the same as HB 1299 (2020) and HB 552 (2019).

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill is necessary to accommodate a Department of Transportation bridge construction project in Iron county. Both the Department of Conservation and the Transportation Department support the bridge project. The bridge is already constructed under a temporary easement, but a permanent legal solution is desirable.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Dinkins; Missouri Department of Transportation; Missouri Department of Natural Resources; and Arnie C. Dienoff.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
