HB 298 -- INCOME TAX REFUND DONATIONS

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "Do Pass by Consent" by the Standing Committee on Veterans by a vote of 13-0. Vote "Do Pass- Consent" by the Standing Committee on Consent and House Procedure by a vote of 9 to 0.

Currently, taxpayers have an option to donate a portion of his or her income tax refund to the Missouri National Guard Foundation Fund. This income tax refund donation option sunsets on December 31, 2020. This bill reauthorizes the program until December 31, 2033.

This bill is the same as SB 784 (2020).

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this will reauthorize an income tax refund donation which funds the Missouri National Guard Foundation Fund. This fund improves the quality of life of servicemembers through these donations.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Wallingford; Arnie Dienoff; and Scott Englund, Missouri National Guard Foundation.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
